NLI: Functions

Background: NLI, Expressions
Related: Examples

Description:
The first element of an expression is a function. The remaining elements are the function's inputs. A function can have 0 to many inputs. An input is optional, if documentation shows it surrounded by square brackets. Once an optional input is omitted, remaining inputs cannot be specified. If a function accepts a variable number of inputs, documentation shows three dots.
